Demonstrations

Industry demonstrations

Together with industry, we test solutions in production environments

Eight industry demonstrations across Sweden develop, verify, and implement digital solutions that make industry more flexible in its electricity use—while maintaining productivity and strengthening competitiveness. In this way, we move from pilot to practical application that can be scaled to more companies and sectors.

An industry demonstration is an environment where companies, energy companies, grid owners, and researchers jointly develop and test new solutions in practice. This can involve controlling electricity use in a factory, reducing power peaks, or coordinating energy resources between several companies.

Each demonstration is based on a real situation at real companies: a factory facing a capacity shortage, a cluster sharing the same bottleneck, or a production process with peaks that could be evened out.

Purpose

Technology is only part of the proof

For a solution to be implemented, it is not enough for it to work technically. The demonstrations are designed to show five things.

That the technology works in real factories

AI, measurement, forecasting, and control are tested in live industrial operation.

That the solutions are profitable

Lower energy costs, freed-up capacity, reduced power peaks, and increased productivity.

That the stakeholders can collaborate

Industry, grid owners, energy companies, researchers, and technology providers share data, control signals, and business models.

What obstacles stand in the way

Regulations, cybersecurity, data sharing, and organization—identified before the solutions are implemented on a larger scale.

That others can follow suit

The demonstrations serve as models for companies and regions facing the same challenge.

The Demonstrations
